Fred is an educational thought leader with a mission to bridge the resource gap and bring opportunity to our most at-risk populations. Fred is also a K-12 business leader passionate about building high performance sales teams.
Fred began his career as a middle school reading and earth science teacher and coach in Dekalb County, Georgia focused on supporting the most reluctant learners in his classes. Fred deployed technology-based, textbook-free lessons to enhance digital literacy amongst his students and promote more equitable access to education. During the summers, Fred partnered with a local nonprofit, the Reach Them to Teach Them Foundation, which continued to offer the students access to a digital learning environment through activities including virtual field trips and virtual meet-and-greets with authors across the country. Fred’s time in Dekalb County helped mold him into the passionate K-12 leader he is today.
After teaching, Fred left for the Northeast and began his journey in the edtech space with McGraw-Hill Education’s SRA Division focusing on intervention solutions in some of the country’s largest urban districts. Fred has also had the opportunity to lead sales teams for several major K-12 hardware and software companies while building a unique pedigree focused on 21st Century learning.
