Alexis Newman

Alexis holds a B.S. in Political Communications with a concentration in Social Advocacy from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she served as Chair of POWER (Protesting Oppression With Educational Reform), a student activist collective engaging with college administration to hold the school community accountable for issues of diversity, inclusion and cultural competency.

Driven by passion for educational equity and disability justice, and a deep commitment to advocating for young people & building accessible scaffolds for them to find fulfillment and purpose in a constantly evolving world, Alexis currently serves as the Blended Learning Lab Manager at PSI High (Problem Solving Incubator) in Sanford, Florida, where she grew up. Her primary role is to co-create a space with students and faculty in which they can engage in dynamic, authentic, and intentional teaching and learning experiences through the lense of design thinking. She has also had the incredible opportunity to spend the last year facilitating the Wayfinder experience with a cohort of first-year students.

When not in the classroom, Alexis can likely be found on the lacrosse field--either playing, coaching, or officiating--where she continues to extend her vision for supporting youth and building meaningful community.
