Jenelle currently serves as the Director of Curriculum and Innovative Learning at Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA), a blended learning charter school serving K-12 students across the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and Big Island. Passionate about the socio-emotional development of young people, she has spent the past eight years designing HTA’s advisory program for grades 6-12th incorporating the practices and principles of Wayfinder for the last three years. She is excited about the expansion of this program and the opportunity it provides students to more fully know themselves, their passions and strengths as individuals. When not working, Jenelle enjoys engaging in her own mindfulness practice through yoga and meditation, as well as enjoying the beauty of her own island, Maui, with her son and husband.
Jenelle received her Masters of Science in Education degree from the New School for Social Research (New School University, NYC) and earned her Bachelor of Philosophy Degree from Miami University (Oxford, OH) with a focus on inner-city educational reform and student resiliency.
