“I am a huge fan of Wayfinder. It never fails to sinks in with students. You don’t realize the value of it until you’re older, but this type of work goes a long way in terms of college applications, personal identity, and growth. It teaches our students the value of engaging in their education”

Timeline
Peninsula Bridge started with the Purpose Toolkit in 2018 for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. They are continuing to implement Wayfinder in 2021.
How it's implemented
Peninsula Bridge was looking for an SEL curriculum to compliment their programming
After an extensive search, they found Wayfinder at the d.school
They incorporated Wayfinder into their Saturday academies once a month for 90 minute sessions
~ Wayfinder is complimented by another 90 minutes of Peninsula Bridge’s programming
They have seen wide spread results in their students
~ Students have better been able to relate to their own identity and connect with their peers.
During COVID-19, they implemented a virtual version of the afterschool program.
~ Students were able to unpack the year
~ They resonated with Wayfinder

“With Wayfinder students can dig into themselves. It gets them from a point of being closed off to seeing the values in the work they are doing. This type of work and thoughtfulness goes a long way.”
