San Domenico High School trained their teachers at the 2018 Summer Institute.

Timeline

In 2018 the Purpose Toolkit was an elective for seniors. It became a required class out of popular demand from students. In 2019 the Belonging Toolkit was integrated into the 9th grade Human Development class.

How Wayfinder is implemented

In 2018 Wayfinder was offered as a stand alone elective for seniors
It became one of the most. popular classes at the school and by popular demand from students it became a required class.
In 2019 they added Belonging to their freshman mentoring program.
In 2020, they added the Belonging Toolkit to the sophomore Human Development class to support student developemnt.
Next year, they are considering middle school as well as an upper level roll out.
San Domenico’s motto is “education with a purpose” and Wayfinder deepened the purpose in their education.
In the pandemic, Wayfinder was a key to supporting students through the pandemic.
~ It was especially impactful for students who were struggling with misfortune.
