Roberta is a former elementary special education teacher from Edison, New Jersey. As a special education teacher, she worked with students with various academic and emotional needs and learning differences. Although she loved being a classroom teacher, she also enjoyed meeting, working with, learning from, and sharing ideas with educators on a larger scale. Before the pandemic, Roberta became an SEL trainer for Dylan’s Wings of Change. In this role, she trained student leaders and provided activities that would help promote lifelong skills of acceptance, leadership, empathy, responsibility, and cooperation in their schools. Most recently, she worked as an Education Consultant for an educational technology company. She conducted professional development sessions for teachers and administrators training them to implement the programs with their students successfully. Roberta earned a bachelor’s in Education from Rutgers University and a master’s in Educational Technology from Ramapo College, where she researched and created a successful school-wide program that guided students to develop six pillars of character education across their K-5 experience. Roberta has always been passionate about education and understands the importance of bringing social-emotional learning skills to the classroom.
