Resource Developer
Shari Williamson

Shari has been finding her way alongside students throughout her career.

After falling in love with the Reggio Emilia approach, Shari started her career helping preschoolers and kindergartners find their passion through play. Next, she transitioned to higher education and built community and chased dreams with college students in on-campus housing at John Carroll University, LaSalle University, and Appalachian State University. For the last eight years, Shari has been hanging out with 6th-12th graders helping them figure out their postsecondary plans.

In addition to her professional roles in education, she also spent a decade volunteering at her sons’ charter school that was founded on Expeditionary Learning principles. Although she had her hands in a little bit of everything, her main roles over the years were leading the PTO and chairing or co-chairing the board of directors. Her favorite role was leading middle school Crew groups that centered socio-emotional learning.

Although most of her career was spent in education, Shari also rendezvoused with non-profits that included a child care resource and referral agency, a child advocacy center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“My purpose is to imagine and create spaces where people feel connected to humanity as they realize their own worthiness and the worthiness of others.”
